Paul advises on EU law, with a specific focus on competition law, foreign direct investment screening (FDI), state aid, and market regulation. 
He has broad experience in transactional matters, gaining clearance in complex cases before the European Commission and ACM as well as other competition and FDI authorities, and handling a variety of sensitive investigations, including abuse of dominance and other contentious competition and FDI matters. In addition, Paul has worked on a wide array of litigation matters, including multi-jurisdictional follow-on damages litigation and complex settlements, and has represented clients before national courts and the European Court of Justice. 
Paul has a particular affinity with the financial sector, building on his experience as part of De Brauw's financial markets regulation group, and was previously seconded to a large Dutch financial group. 
Paul is a member of the Dutch Association for European Law and the Dutch Competition Law Association. He publishes on various topics related to EU law and is a member of the editorial board of competition law journal Mededingingsrecht in de Praktijk. He also regularly lectures at the University of Amsterdam’s EU law programme.

Stephanie is a forceful competition and FDI lawyer with over a decade of experience practicing in Brussels, Amsterdam and New York. Stephanie counsels clients on a broad range of European and Dutch competition and FDI related matters, building on her experience representing multinational clients before the European Commission as well as Dutch and US authorities. Stephanie has built up extensive skills and knowledge in transactional matters – winning clearance for complex remedies across the globe and acting as lead counsel in the coordination of many international merger filings. Lennard is a partner in De Brauw’s Corporate/M&amp;A practice, and head of the private equity practice. He acts for Dutch and international private equity firms on their acquisitions and exit transactions, as well on other matters throughout the investment period. In addition, Lennard regularly acts for founders and family-owned companies who wish to sell their company or to partner with private equity. He is often consulted for his expertise in governance arrangements between shareholders, private equity funds and co-investors, including minority investments by private equity, and in warranty &amp; indemnity insurance and management participation plans.
