De Brauw advised ABN AMRO on the acquisition of NIBC Bank from Blackstone. NIBC Bank is an entrepreneurial Dutch bank specialised in mortgages, saving products, commercial real estate and digital infrastructure lending. The estimated purchase price is around EUR 960 million, subject to final adjustments. Closing of the transaction remains conditional on regulatory and other transaction approvals and is anticipated in the second half of 2026.
The acquisition of NIBC increases the scale of ABN AMRO’s position in the Dutch, German and Belgian savings markets. Additionally, ABN AMRO is exploring potential synergies through a combination with its investment offering at BUX.
