Lennard is a partner in De Brauw’s Corporate/M&amp;A practice, and head of the private equity practice. He acts for Dutch and international private equity firms on their acquisitions and exit transactions, as well for other matters throughout the investment period. In addition, Lennard regularly acts for founders and family-owned companies who wish to sell their company or to partner with private equity. He is often consulted for his expertise in governance arrangements between shareholders, private equity funds and co-investors, including minority investments by private equity and in warranty &amp; indemnity insurance and management participation plans.
Lennard is recognised as a leader in his field, as also confirmed by Legal 500 (‘Hall of Fame’ for Private Equity) and Chambers. Lennard was nominated as one of six lawyers for the Dutch Best M&amp;A Lawyer Award each year as from 2020 and won the award in 2021 and 2023.
Lennard played an important role in establishing De Brauw’s Singapore office.

Laura is a senior associate in the firm's Corporate/M&amp;A practice. She specialises in advising listed companies, large multinationals and private equity firms on M&amp;A transactions, including cross-border deals. Laura also has experience advising clients on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters, particularly in the context of M&amp;A transactions.

Between 2016 and 2018, Laura was based in De Brauw's Singapore office where she handled cross-border enforcement matters and internal investigations for EU companies involving foreign regulators. In 2015, she was seconded to Heineken International and to Flow Traders in 2022.

Helen joined De Brauw in September 2018, moving from her position as Director Competition Law at Akzo Nobel NV, where she was responsible for competition law and merger control matters globally. She has worked extensively with economists across a range of matters.

Stephanie is a forceful competition and FDI lawyer with over a decade of experience practicing in Brussels, Amsterdam and New York. Stephanie counsels clients on a broad range of European and Dutch competition and FDI related matters, building on her experience representing multinational clients before the European Commission as well as Dutch and US authorities. Stephanie has built up extensive skills and knowledge in transactional matters – winning clearance for complex remedies across the globe and acting as lead counsel in the coordination of many international merger filings. Stephanie has handled a variety of sensitive investigative matters concerning competition law and anti-money laundering controls. Bas specialises in general banking, finance and restructuring matters - his recent Executive Master in Finance demonstrates his deep knowledge of corporate finance that goes beyond the legal aspects of matters. Bas' practice covers the full spectrum of finance and capital markets transactions, and often involves highly complex and multi-faceted cross-border matters. He has taken leading roles in negotiating large (sustainability-linked) corporate credit facilities, implementing acquisition financing arrangements for transformative acquisitions and designing comprehensive capital restructurings both in- and outside of distressed situations. He also has substantial expertise in project financing and construction. Bas' client base runs the gamut from large listed and non-listed corporates, to financial institutions and private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. Roos manages those cases where the transactional aspects of intellectual property rights are a central element of the matter. She has over nine years of experience in the IP practice and is a seasoned transactional lawyer. She advises on, negotiates and drafts IP-related agreements and structures. Roos is closely connected to De Brauw's Corporate department, and forms part of multidisciplinary teams for M&amp;A-related matters, financing and restructuring. Roos is often is involved in matters where intellectual property law, contract law and competition law intersect. Marlies de Waard specialises in regulatory and enforcement matters with a focus on corporate criminal law. She regularly conducts internal investigations and represents corporations and financial institutions in administrative and criminal enforcement proceedings. She also advises on pre-enforcement compliance issues. Marlies specifically focuses on matters involving US regulatory authorities.
 
Marlies is an expert on economic sanctions and export controls. She often advises companies on economic sanctions and export controls compliance in general and the legality of contemplated transactions. She has conducted numerous internal investigations on the topic and represented companies before both Dutch and foreign enforcement authorities, among them the US Department of Justice (DoJ), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). In addition, she has assisted companies navigate public scrutiny, including parliamentary questions, relating to their international trade relations.
 
Another focal point of her work is corporate criminal law, including safety and environmental law, fraud, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery regulation. Marlies has ample experience representing companies suspected of wrongdoing in such matters, both in the investigatory phase as well as in court, including in appeal. She also assists companies that have fallen victim to crime themselves, advising them on their position in court and possibilities to recover their damages.
 
Marlies also regularly advises on criminal law and compliance issues coming up in corporate transactions.
